(A) It will only affect the mobile search.
(Q) If i do not have a mobile friendly version of my website will i loose my search position/ranking in the ordinary Google search?
(A) No, you will not loose your position/ranking in the ordinary Google search, This only affects the Google mobile search.
(Q) Will the update affect entire websites or just individual pages?
(A) The update will affect individual URLs only. If a site has three pages and only one of them is not mobile friendly, the other two will not be affected.

(A) There are strong indications that they will make a separate index for Mobiles.
(Q) Will searches on tablets be affected?
(A) No, Google does not currently classify Tablets as mobile devices so this will only affect Smartphone searches.

(A) They will not show in the general mobile search, but will show for logged in users who have installed the corresponding apps.
